Jay Aston Mick's Lounge, San Francisco 1999 You would think that between someone who grew up reading every issue of Creem, Rock Scene, and Punk magazines and someone who wrote half a dozen gloriously beautiful pop/goth hits of the '80s, that we would ace one of those computerized music trivia games. But you would be wrong. Yes, we knew that David Bowie's alter ego was Ziggy Stardust, and that Cher recorded "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves," and that Pete Best was the Beatles first drummer. But we had no idea when the Eagles released "Hotel California," or the title of Billy Joel's first #1 record, or the name of Boston's guitarist. How embarrassing. |
