The
Brookyln Dogs

Following
on from Fridayz Angelz, Billy joined Birmingham based Glam Sleaze Rock band
The Brooklyn Dogs whom also featured ex-Angelz Guitarist Russ Frame. The
band played many shows, including The Marquee, Royal Standard & Opera
on The Green in London and Edwards No 8 in Birmingham, and they played some
especially noteworthy gigs with The Dogs D'Amour, The Quireboys & Wrathchild.
A rare video of The Brooklyn Dogs at a practice session from 1989 can be seen in the clip below, as well as another Brooklyn Dogs video featuring the song 'Mama Said' from their demo: |

The Hearts of Darkness | ||
After
his time in The Brooklyn Dogs, Billy later moved to London and set about
finding a new band, and it was whilst playing in a loose band with his
friend Adam whom needed a drummer, that he met Steve Pegrum. Steve had
been the founder member of The Ghosts of Lovers, whom included Steve's
friend Guy Bourseau on Lead Guitar. Following the break up of The Ghosts,
Steve and Guy were looking to continue in that direction, and Steve's
meeting with Billy in 1992 led to a productive jam, and so Steve, Guy
and Billy formed The Hearts of Darkness.
Despite their best efforts - The band must have auditioned every singer in the country into Thunders, Lords and Iggy - they never did manage to find someone that fitted. On the way they managed to write some great songs though (such as 'The Last Bullet') and also had some great jams with, amongst others, Peter Perret (The Only Ones) and Alistair (The Lords), before finally calling it a day in the Winter of 1996. |

Travelling
and Renaissance
|
||
By this time, Billy had moved back to Coventry, and after hitting a period of turbulence at the dawning of the millennium, he then spent some time travelling and working in Scotland, Holland and Australia. After a protracted period in Coventry, Billy moved down to London again where he still lives, and has recently been listening to the Cherry Bombz again, as well as The Libertines and Johnny Thunders. He has also made the transition from a Fender Precision to a Thunderbird and has been heard playing the 4 strings once more... |
